This directory contains the G0 Superconducting Magnet System (SMS) assembly
drawing in various formats.  All files are compatible with Autocad release
12.  .dxf files may (or may not) be compatible with other CAD programs.
The files have been compressed with Gnu zip.  FTP transfers must therefore
be done using binary mode.  Once the selected file is on your host machine
you must uncompress it with gunzip or the equivalent program.

A couple of important points:
1) we have always said that the components in the assembly drawing
   are drawn at their operating temperature, and for the locations of most
   features this is true.  However, all standard plate thicknesses are
   shown at their nominal room temperature thickness no matter what their
   operating temperature, as are all fasteners, bolt holes, and LHE and
   LN2 pipe sizes.  To really make G0SMS reflect true operating temperature
   conditions all of these sizes would have to be corrected for thermal
   contraction.
2) While the spectrometer will be built to English standards G0SMS is
   currently metric.
