Design and construction

The budget and responsibilities for the construction and operation of the $\mu CAP$ detector is presented in Fig. 25. The budget numbers are estimates for the contributions of the different institutions. A significant fraction of this money is available, the rest is subject to request to and approval by the respective funding agencies.

The anticipated schedule for the preparation of the final setup is summarized in Fig. 26. The collaboration will make a determined effort to keep within this time frame, so as to allow a first main production run before the shutdown at the end of 2002.

Figure 25: Construction budget and responsibilities. Explanations: major earlier investments for this experiment indicated by $ sign, expensive equipment obtained from other experiments indicated by X sign; new investments specific for this experiment indicated by explicit USD amount; shaded boxes indicate institutions responsible for construction, testing and operation. Travel money and support not included.
