Wall stops

As muon capture in standard wall materials has a rate 10-1000 fold larger than \( \Lambda _{s} \), beam tails stopping in walls and the entrance window of the target have been a serious source of background in earlier experiments, in particular at low density gas targets. This background will be largely excluded by tracking muons in the TPC and eliminating stops close to the TPC walls in 3-dimensional reconstruction.
