keyword=RC's report Thursday March 18th swing -- Friday, March 19 day
RC Summary
Thursday, 18 Mar. swing
through
Friday, 19 Mar. day
- Several hours used for investigation
the Hall B "shoulder", which seems
to have been a cabling problem!
- BCM/BPM/LUMI calibration
- IHWP is OUT.
- LH2 target parity quality
- 8.5 hours of good data for this 24 hr period (runs
20688-20715) out of 16 hours on tape.
- Overall efficiency: 35.4% (8.5/24) (Not as bad as it
might be what with the Hall B work and the calibration)
- Beam (no trip) efficiency: 65.2% (9.2/14.1) [Probably
reflects the BCM calibration---low current.]
- Parity efficiency: 92.4% (8.5/9.2)
- Total parity hours: 22.0 (runs 20584-20715)
- Overall IN/OUT charge ratio: 0.0
- N.B. Jeff Martin has resumed as run
coordinator. Damon Spayde takes up the sacred cell phone on the
22nd.
Achievements and events
Production running at 40 ľA and running with 6 mm halo
target.
BCM/BPM/LUMI
calibration taken (run 20711) and results
implemented.
Plans
- Primarily LH2 production running.
- We will stop at roughly 9:00 AM every day for 1/2 hour to
perform Chow's
fOps test plan until further notice.
- The next polarization sequence (Moller measurement, followed by
IHWP reversal (to IN), followed by another Moller measurement,
and then a RIP scan) will take place, on Friday, March 19th.
Concerns and Their Resolution
- Det 13, 14, octant 4 and 8 show width = 1.2 * statistical.
Jacques Arvieux and Christophe Furget are investigating. Possible
resolutions: cable wiggling, cable fixing, DMCH replacement (they
- Spikes in the French timing spectra appear from time to
time. Under investigation by Jacques Arvieux
- Preparations for transverse running are not yet finished.
