RC Summary
RC Summary Tuesday, March 16 swing - Wednesday, March 17 day
- Took data on LH2 at 40 uA. IHWP out.
- Note:Dave McKee is Run Coordinator for 3/18, 3/19. Jeff
Martin is Run Coordinator for 3/20, 3/21. Damon Spayde is Run
Coordinator for 3/22, 3/23 and thereafter.
Achievements and events
- 3/16 swing: coil modulation, 120 Hz, production, cable jiggling.
- 3/17 owl: an incredible data taking shift. Des Ramsay quoted as
saying: "It was the best shift I have ever been on at JLab."
Neither LTD errors nor spikes.
- 3/17 day: Moller = 73%, high Wien angle beam studies,
production, energy measurement (bit of a fiasco without Mark
Jones... e.g. RC forgot to relay to shift crew Mark's suggestion to
remove target and shut off detectors, caught by shift crew).
- Wien
quad studies with large Wien angle did not go so well and may
jeopardize expedient transverse running. Paul King will communicate
with Reza Kazimi and new PD (Harry Fanning) to find out more. Need
to keep on top of this.
Plans
- Smooth LH2 running with longitudinal beam.
- 16:00 3/17 6 hours at 1 uA for gain calibration.
- 3/18 day BCM/BPM/lumi calibration. Julie Roche and Jianglai Liu
will provide procedure.
- IHWP insert 3/19 swing with Moller runs before and after (both
Tanya Horn and Dave Gaskell are on shift at this time.)
- Hall C spin dance 3/22 followed by transverse running.
Unscheduled pending requests:
- Harp scans if we get new software from Arne Freyberger. Arne
relayed to me that he would look into a halo/harp joint script. No
word yet. I will re-email. We need this!
Concerns and Their Resolution
- Det 13, 14, octant 4 and 8 show width = 1.2 * statistical.
Jacques Arvieux and Christophe Furget are investigating. Possible
resolutions: cable wiggling, cable fixing, DMCH replacement (they
are on the same DMCH).
- Spikes in the French timing spectra appearing from time to time
... Under investigation by Jacques Arvieux.
- Wien angle (see above). Resolution to constantly bug new PD
about it. Casa people present very positive view.
