Run Plan Friday 02-06-2004Run Plan - Wednesday 01-28-2004
RC Summary Sunday/Monday
02-16-2004
A good
(excellent?) day of
data taking !
- Change to LH2 was made on
Wednesday
morning
- IWHP is IN since Sunday morning
- Data taking on LH2 target with 40 uA
- LH2
target parity quality
- 12.6
hours
for this period
(runs
19921-19948)
- Overall total of 39.3 hours (runs 19815-19948)
- Efficiency loss due to beam trip : 20 %
- Efficiency loss due to Beam parity : 8%
Achievements during this period:
1) Beam at 40 uA and running with 6 mm halo
target
2) IHWP is now IN (IHWP-IN)
3) Feedback operation and beam parity quality
- Data continues to look pretty good (see
Feedback)
- New slope adjustement performed
(see Slope-Adjust)
4) 120 Hz are being replayed by the worker (120Hz)
- OK, so 120
Hz only every 8 hours.
5) Observed IN+OUT asymmetry for present (Feb) LH2 data
is
about compatible with 0 (see IN+OUT).
6) Data files recovered (see EPICS)
7) Database update (Database)
8) Slopes for beam parameter correction (Beam-Correction)
9) Coil modulation small problem is fixed (see Coil
and
...
(the whip sound did not work on... Gary)
e-log to come)
Also change the run plan to account for short trips
(no need
to re-run the script in this case)
10) Halo is of the order/smaller than 1 ppm outside of the 6 mm hole
(see Halo)
11) Substantial
increase of effciency in data taking (8 to 12 hours/day)
On
a more general basis. Mid-Term plan
1) We will likely change the IHWP
state on Tuesday (2/17)
Make a RIP scan just after, and a
Moeller measurement before and after
2) Fastbus measurement to perform a check of the gain and
set a reference spectra. Tentative : Tuesday 2/17
after beam development
3) BPM/BCM calibration need to be done every week. Tentative next Wednesday.
Mark
has asked for a gain change in BCM1
4) Lumi scan on LH2 (asked by Silviu and Jianglai). After BCM
calibration.
Concerns
A) PMT Gain
calibration
- Need reference spectra before going for months of data
taking on LH2
D) Beam trip is still hurting us ...
- Rates of up to 10 trips/hour (see Trips)
- Loss of data is 70s*Ntrip, so about a 20% loss in efficiency
C) ... as well as magnet in ARC 6
- Recurrent problem with this magnet all WE long (see latest
development in ARC6)
